.NAME Domain Name Registrations
Established in 2001, the .NAME universal top-level domain is the only one meant for personal web pages only. These domains can consist of personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. Initially, only 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to buy john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased third-level domains remained functional.
Through our firm, you can secure your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the chance to correct the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization code from the present domain provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no special rules on who can acquire a .NAME domain, but in order to maintain the idea behind its creation alive, the Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
The .NAME top-level domain extension is among the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the precise spelling in your local language.
